Changes to my study programme

Imagen
Hello everybody, today I will talk about the changes I would make to the programme of studies for my career. Architecture is a very demanding career where you have to have knowledge in many areas that go beyond what you learn at the university, so you have to work hard to be a good professional. In general, the study plan, the workload and the duration of the studies seem to me to be adequate, but I deeply believe that the  subject of  "Taller" has too much prominence. Although design is a fundamental part of architecture, it is not the only and most important thing, it ends up being a subject that devours all the dedication of the students to the detriment of the other subjects, which in my opinion are just as important, all this due to the way of working demanded by the professors. It is an instance that demands a lot of resources and often does not generate more knowledge, you can't just design well, you also have to know about everything else. Every semester you have ...

Travel to the future? 😕

Imagen
Hello everyone, this week's topic makes me very uncomfortable and I really don't want to talk about it, but I think it's important to expose different realities within the student community. Would you like to travel to the future? I wouldn't and I'll explain why. There is nothing about the future that appeals to me, the world is too chaotic and I have already lost faith in humanity. Having more information would only make me more stressed and anxious. My family is quite small and we don't get along very well, I don't know much about my relatives' lives in the present and I don't care about their future. I love them very much, but I always let people go about their lives without intervening unless they need my help or advice, so I am indifferent. I'm not interested in knowing what will happen in my future either, I'm too focused on fixing my life in the present and building a good foundation for the future from now on. I don't want to know...

My hobbies

Imagen
Hello everybody. Today I have to talk about my hobbies, it's a bit of a complicated topic for me, but let's give it a try 😓. The truth is that I've never had many hobbies, my parents were quite strict and never encouraged activities other than studying for school, so I never kept my hobbies for long. As a child I always enjoyed drawing and painting, solve puzzles and playing with miniature figures. I also liked singing, listening to music and watching anime. There was a time when I became quite passionate about drawing and painting, but I put it aside because my parents didn't encourage my creativity and for them it was a waste of time. As a teenager I started drawing again, but I also took up other hobbies. I started playing guitar and violin, I also started training martial arts. I liked playing the violin very much, but as I never had my own violin and the ones at school were getting more and more damaged I had to give it up, so I focused a lot on martial arts. I t...

My first concert 🎶🎸

Imagen
Hello, how are you? Today I want to talk about one of the best experiences I've ever had, this was the first time I went to a concert. When I was a teenager, I listened to a lot of rock and related genres of music, but one of the first bands I started listening to was guns 'n roses and it was one of my favourite bands. At that time the band had already split up, but I often commented that if they reunited and came to Chile I had to go to that concert. It turns out that day came and on October 29th 2016 there was a concert. At that time I was not going through a good economic situation and I couldn't save the money to buy the ticket, I was quite sad, but something magical happened. In a meeting we started talking about events and celebrities and I made the comment about how much I wanted to go to the concert and how sad it was that I couldn't go. At that moment one of the people who was there looked at me and said: "I have a spare ticket that I couldn't sell, do...

Countries I would like to travel to 😀✈

Hello everyone! Today I would like to tell you about ountries I would like to travel to . Since I started my architecture career I would really like to travel and get to know the whole Europe. I would really like to get to know the culture and customs of European countries, as well as all the historical buildings and ancient structures that are in that territory. One of the countries that most attracts my attention is Germany, an acquaintance of my mum's has family there and has travelled there many times, on one occasion he showed us photos of different places in Germany and I was really fascinated. Another country I would like to visit is England, it also has a lot of things related to culture and architecture that I would like to know, and I am also interested in the climate there. My boyfriend's brother lives in that country, my boyfriend has been to visit him and he has told me great things about it. Someday we would like to travel to England together and get to know a lot...

My Future Job 💪

Imagen
Hello to all of you! I hope you are well 😊 This week I'm going to tell you about the job I would like to have in the future and other jobs I thought about in the past, before studying architecture.   In the future I want to develop in The field of urban planning area, working on public sustainable development projects. I would like to work in municipalities, which is where people can be helped the most and where there are more possibilities to implement this new way of generating a healthy development of cities. If urban projects are approached from a sustainable point of view, the quality of life can be improved even more, and not only that, it will also help to reduce energy consumption and pollution. Eco-neighbourhoods can also be created, where sustainability is taken to a new level and community living is enhanced on a larger scale, generating many benefits for people and the planet. A good urban design can help to improve the quality of life of the people and ...

Tools I use when I do my homework for university.

Imagen
Hello everyone, I hope you are well 😊. Today I'm going to talk about the tools I use when I do my homework for university. I study architecture, and in this career we can work in different ways, exploring different materials and tools, both manually and digitally. If I work manually, I most often use pencil and paper. Among the ones I use the most are graphite pencils and drawing pencils, I also use coloured markers a lot in my work, the ones I like the most are the prismacolor markers with a bevelled tip. Sometimes I explore other techniques as well, such as coloured pencils, watercolour, Indian ink or collage with different types of paper. When we have to make models the most common thing is to use cardboard, so we work a lot on our manual skills using the cutter and glue. You have to be very precise if you want it to look good, so taking the right measurements with a ruler is essential. I have also had to work with other materials, such as: plaster, wood, wire, clay, fabric an...
